Borough Market will be hosting prominent local artist Rosie Brooks for five days this August, putting on show 128 touching artworks created in the wake of the London Bridge terror attack.
Held in the Market Hall, the exhibition will feature specially-created illustrations of each market trader and many of the restaurants that were affected by the attack on June 3.
Budding artist? Rosie will also be sharing her creative skills with visitors to the market, so why not drop in and join her free drawing classes from 12pm to 2pm on 23th, 24th and 25th August.
Rosie said “I’ve been a resident of Borough for many years. Living just by Southwark Cathedral meant I was affected by the cordon that was set up after the terror attack. It was something that touched so many of us, I wanted to bring some cheer and joy to the local community. I thought the best way for me to show my support was through my illustrations, as part of the Love Borough campaign. From my years living here, I can say without a doubt that Borough is one of the most amazing communities to be a part of. I’m grateful that I’m able to share my passion for art, and give back to the market in the best way I can.”
See Rosie's illustrations in the Market Hall from 21st to 25th August or join her workshops to create your own #LoveBorough artwork to take home.
